Date Night for the Obama’s – Again

The country is in a horrid recession.  People are losing their jobs.  People are losing their homes.  Two car makers – GM and Chrysler are in the throws of death.  The debt of the nation is staggering and the government is spending money like they had some.  Don’t worry, they will be coming after us to get it.

We’re told to tighten our belts.  We’re told to keep a positive attitude, even though most of us will not have a vacation beyond our own front porch this year… if we are lucky enough to be working for some place still solvent.  Obama said we all have to sacrifice….

Then, along come the Obama’s with more excess… and the press to glorify it.

The country has surely gone mad when it is seen as acceptable for the President and the First Lady to make the rest of the nation be inconvenienced  for their whims and desires.

Taking three planes and several helicopters (not to mention the C-17 carrying the armored limos and convoy vehicles), the Obama’s had date night in New York – a dinner and a Broadway play at taxpayer expense.  Fashion reports were plenty.  One writer describes “the president in a smart dark suit with no tie, and the First Lady in a black cocktail dress and heels,” while ABC said “the President, tie-less in a stunning black suit…. Michelle Obama wore a sleeveless, body-fitting, knee length, black cocktail dress and black heels that almost stuck in the South lawn sod.”  They are no longer covering the President, but some film star or rock idol.

While retirement funds have been slashed in half, while people are losing everything we have worked for, we are regaled by the excess that we are providing these classless dolts.

I soon expect to hear, LET THEM EAT CAKE.

What a disappointment I find in the response to this behavior.
